About

The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make these vices virtues, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same forms of mental pathology does not make these people sane.

About Sundhedsfeber

The original aim of this website was to inspire others and share experiences and knowledge exclusively related to health. That remains part of Sundhedsfeber, with a particular focus on psychology and mental health, including philosophical perspectives. Over time, however, I have also wanted to reflect and write about other subjects, including politics, film, science, and artificial intelligence, as well as shorter and longer literary pieces on various themes.

Broadly speaking, I am interested in health in its many forms: mental, physical, interpersonal, political, and environmental. I write in both Danish and English, and occasionally in Bosnian.

A short biography
My name is Denis Tatarević, and I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1989. My family and I fled to Denmark in 1993, where we lived in a refugee camp for about a year and a half. After graduating from Ikast-Brande Gymnasium in 2008, I spent several years searching for direction in life. I was hardly idle, though: I completed military service in 2011, studied social education in 2012–2013, and worked as an insurance agent in 2013–2014.

In 2014, I decided to study philosophy at Aarhus University, graduating in 2019 with a minor in psychology. I have taught psychology and theory of science at upper-secondary level (HF, STX, and IB), served as an instructor in philosophy of medicine, and worked as a mentor at Aarhus University. During my master’s studies, I went on exchange to China, where I studied media and communication, politics and history of the Middle East, Chinese history, and international relations. I currently teach IB Psychology at EUC Syd in Sønderborg.

My interests
My interests include habit change, motivation and learning, managing stress and anxiety, trauma psychology, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, biopsychology, and developmental psychology. Within philosophy, I am particularly interested in philosophy of medicine, philosophy of science, and philosophy of mind. Beyond these fields, I am interested in medicine and biology, sociology, history, literature, and film. Two of my favorite authors are Ivo Andrić and Stefan Zweig.

I love being physically active and have enjoyed movement since childhood. I have played football, swum, boxed, climbed, run, and done strength training. These days, strength exercises are a major part of my rehabilitation after an injury. One of my goals is to cycle around Denmark once I have recovered. I enjoy challenging my body and discovering what it can do. In recent years, I have also become increasingly curious about nutrition and its effects on body and mind.
